Two harpsichordists and a lute player, all three of whom are virtuoso musicians, young and creative, will be getting together for a most promising BOZAR evening. Leonardo García Alarcón, Jean Rondeau and Thomas Dunford will be recreating Bach's Trio Sonatas, one of the highlights of the genre, and are proposing an exclusive version. Incomparable masterpieces that are highly popular with organists owing to their musical and technical virtues, they have been transcribed here for two harpsichords. A three-voice compositional form, in a typical late Baroque style, they heralded the galant style. Accompanying this will be Mozart's Fugue in C Minor, whose theme some experts claim is inspired by Boccherini. This in turn made an impression upon Mozart's successors, as it was subsequently reinterpreted by Beethoven.
