Cellist Jean-Guihen Queyras and pianist Alexandre Tharaud get along exceptionally well and have been regular chamber music partners for several decades. Jean-Guihen once said about his friend: "Alexandre Tharaud is like a brother to me, I have complete confidence in him." That confidence serves him well in this musical rollercoaster from the Baroque to Romanticism. Swinging between J.S. Bach and Marin Marais to the Romanticism of Chopin, Fauré and Brahms, among others, they attempt to blur the boundaries between old and new to strike the perfect balance.
