A journey into the heart of the orchestra (in French)
The French pianist Jean-François Zygel is a phenomenon. This professor at the Paris Conservatory became familiar to the general public through his media appearances and concert performances. His greatest merit is to have revealed the “secrets” of classical music to the widest possible audience, most notably through his television programmes Les Clefs de l'orchestre and La Boîte à musique. At BOZAR, Zygel will speak on Mozart’s Symphony n° 25, composed when the young Wolfgang was just 17 years old. With its feverish melodies and unexpected rhythms, this symphony is a magnificent example of the Sturm und Drang style that swept through European arts in the second half of the 18th century.
