Literary traces from French speaking Belgium

Literature lives, moves and leaves traces behind, just like the archives which want to save literature from the ravages of time. It is the paradox of literature and creation: all traces are relics of the past, but can just as easily be living organisms.

For sixty years the Archives & Musée de la Littérature has collected valuable documents for the French-speaking part of Belgium and brought them back to life.
Between 4 December 2018 and 3 March 2019 you get a chance to discover the traces which the great French writers of Belgium left behind along the way.

From a puzzle by Paul Willems, a revised poem by Émile Verhaeren or a logogram by Christian Dotremont, as you cast your eye over reproductions of manuscripts, photos, theatre posters and busts you re-experience the history of French-speaking literature in Belgium in the Centre for Fine Arts.
