Ras el Hanout
Ras El Hanout is a theatre company based in Molenbeek-Saint-Jean. For ten years, it has been promoting a form of citizenship committed to solidarity and intercultural dialogue. Its original creations are a means of expression, which bring together audiences from different backgrounds around a shared, but differently experienced, reality.
Salim Haouch’s new play Ma Andi Mangoul - Je n'ai rien à dire - Ik heb niets te zeggen (I Have Nothing to Say), like his previous work, tackles serious issues with humour. It is inspired from his father’s notes for a project in the late 1980s – an exchange programme between Belgian and Moroccan gendarmes aimed at forging cultural ties between law enforcement agencies and minorities in Belgium. A performance in which Salim displays an extraordinary flair – he switches between playing his father and other characters – and which conveys a message of optimism and humanity.
