Following the success of the first Jazz for Young People concert in 2017, the world’s most famous jazz orchestra is back at Bozar. Accompanied by the incredible jazz trumpeter Wynton Marsalis, the Jazz at Lincoln Center Orchestra will take your pupils on a discovery of jazz and the United States, from Washington D.C. to New York. Throughout his career, Marsalis has made a point of defending musical education. In this concert, he tells the story of jazz, detailing the role of each instrument in the orchestra and making the link between music and values in society. Your pupils will be given the keys to listening to jazz in a more intense way.
In this interactive concert, your pupils will:
-
Explore the tones, colours and personalities of a jazz orchestra
-
Learn more about collaboration and the value of individuality
-
Learn to listen to, describe and analyse music
