- 11:00

Jazz at Lincoln Center Orchestra

Secondary schools

Following the success of the first “jazz for young people” concert in 2017, the world’s most famous jazz orchestra will return to BOZAR for another concert. The Jazz at Lincoln Center Orchestra, which is for the occasion accompanied by the incredible trumpeter Wynton Marsalis, will take your pupils on a journey to discover American jazz, from Washington D.C. to New York. Marsalis has always championed music education. During this concert, he will explain the history of jazz and the role of each instrument in the orchestra, building bridges between music and social values. Your pupils will have a better understanding of the context so they can experience jazz even more intensely.

In this interactive concert students will:

  • Explore the tones, colours and personalities of a jazz orchestra
  • Learn about collaboration and the value of individuality
  • Listen to, describe, and analyse music
