One of the most famous big bands in the world is coming to BOZAR. The Jazz at Lincoln Center Orchestra from New York has championed the big band and the big band repertoire in jazz for many years. Its artistic leader is possibly even more famous. The much-lauded trumpet player and composer Wynton Marsalis holds nine Grammy Awards and a Pulitzer Prize for Music in his collection. Together they perform a singular tribute to the Big Band, the highlight being this fantastic double bill with the Brussels Jazz Orchestra.
The two big bands will exchange soloists and perform two new arrangements together. One composed by the JLCO and the other by Bert Joris. The result? A unique celebration and historic tribute to all things big band.
