‘Jan Hoet: Thank God for the Gift - Luc Vrydaghs’

​​​​​​​Thank God for the Gift brings to life the complete world of Jan Hoet: a world dedicated to art, where private and professional lives are intertwined. A portrayal of a restless soul, who only wanted to move forward, never stand still. The documentary showcases the remarkable journey of curator Jan Hoet, along with the controversial individual behind this journey. He was a passionate man with an insatiable hunger for art, radical in his honesty, and a firm believer in total intellectual and emotional freedom. He took art out of the museum and brought it to the people, into everyday life. The common thread throughout the film is Jan Hoet's favourite painting, the 15th-century Ghent Altarpiece, also known as the Adoration of the Mystic Lamb.
