Violinist Isabelle Faust and pianist Alexander Melnikov have reached the absolute peak of their professions as musicians, regularly performing in concerts as soloists for the world's leading orchestras. However, they are even more impressive when they join forces. The pair has been appearing as a power duo for several years now. Their concerts and recordings are invariably showered with praise. For example, the duo's recording of Beethoven's violin sonatas has won no fewer than eight awards. The works performed by Melnikov and Faust in this concert include Szymanowski's Three Myths, which the composer himself described as “my favourite works, very original timbrally and technically”.
