The digital infosphere has today become the environment in which our societies live and develop. Its expansion questions the notions of social justice and freedom. In different countries and on several continents, national parliaments and civil societies try to give fresh impetus to the defence of human rights.
Juan-Carlos de Martin is professor at the Polytechnic University of Turin and Faculty Fellow at Harvard University. He is particularly interested in the interactions between the new technologies and society.
Joe McNamee is Executive Director of European Digital Rights (EDRi), the association of digital civil rights associations in Europe. His work focuses on issues related to online privacy and law enforcement measures undertaken "voluntarily" by internet intermediaries.
