Rinaldo

We are delighted to offer you a wonderful evening of baroque music in Handel's celebrated opera Rinaldo. This masterpiece contains a number of passages that made musical history, including the magnificent aria "Lascia ch'io pianga", made immortal on the big screen in Gérard Corbiau's Farinelli. Generation after generation, this timeless opera has continued to move audiences and musicians alike. Rinaldo is presented to you this evening by an array of fine young artists whose talent is already renowned worldwide. It will be performed by the outstanding ensemble Il Pomo d'Oro, which has appeared in Europe's leading venues. The title role will be played by Bartoli's protégé, Franco Fagioli, who was introduced to us here by the diva of divas a few years ago and who has since developed a brilliant international career. He is joined by prestigious soloists such as Julia Lezhneva and Karina Gauvin, who are well known to Brussels audiences.
