According to The Times Niccolo Ammaniti (1966) is “the Italian word for talent”. His first novel, I'LL STEAL YOU AWAY, was long listed for The Independent Foreign Fiction Prize. He won the prestigious Italian Viareggio Literary Prize for Fiction for his best-selling novel I'M NOT SCARED, which has been translated into thirty-five languages. In 2012 ME AND YOU was adapted to screen by Italian Oscar winner Bernardo Bertolucci. IL MIRACOLO is his first TV series.

During a bloody police operation a statue of the Virgin Mary is discovered. It is weeping tears of blood. Faced with this inexplicable phenomenon a politician, a scientist and a man of God seek a meaning amid the confusion. But can one emerge unscathed from a miracle?
