I DON'T BELONG ANYWHERE. THE CINEMA OF CHANTAL AKERMAN - Marianne Lambert
Belgium / 2015 / 67' / VO FR
Competition: Award for Film on Art
In the presence of the director

Chantal Akerman, who recently passed away, was a leading figure in the world of cinema. This documentary sheds light on this discrete director, her way of looking at things, her intimate and artistic memories, her often radical aesthetic biases which have been met with both insults and esteem. From Brussels where she was born to Paris where she lived, from New York, where she studied and made her cinematographic debut, to Tel Aviv, a city entrenched in her family’s past, the film speaks of exile and liberation as it helps us to understand a fascinating and indispensable body of work.

PETITES HISTOIRES DU MONDE AVANT D'ALLER DORMIR - Maxime Coton
Belgium / 2015 / 27’ / VO FR
Competition: SCAM Discovery Award
In the presence of the director

A filmed letter, a legacy offered by a father-director to his daughter, Petites histoires du monde avant d'aller dormir (Small Stories of the World before Bedtime) is a book of found images, which have been meticulously chosen so that they can be questioned and used to describe the world... This is the world that the new-born child is going to discover, with its horrors and its marvels, its fragilities and its vitality. Maxime Coton’s film gently, almost naively, touches the apex of the heart.
