Kirill Karabits - Carolin Widmann

Cultural diversity is part and parcel of the identity of the Polish I CULTURE Orchestra, which performs works that reflect and bring together young Polish, Armenian, Azeri, Belarussian and Georgian musicians. Poland is represented by two of its most iconic composers, with Szymanowski’s Violin Concerto No. 1, an enchanting, dreamy masterpiece, inspiring musical ecstasy. The soloist for this event is the excellent German violinist Carolin Widmann. Also on the programme a Belgian creation by Penderecki, as well as Stravinsky’s “heathen”, “visionary” and “scandalous” The Rite of Spring. This masterpiece sparked the advent of modernism in music. Kirill Karabits, who is the ensemble’s artistic director, will be conducting. A concert in the sign of dialogue, openness and modernism.
