‘Houston Symphony’

9 Mar.'18
- 20:00

European Gala

The Houston Symphony's many distinguished musical directors include Fricsay, Stokowski, Barbirolli, Previn and Eschenbach. Taking up the baton in 2014, the Colombian conductor Andrés Orozco-Estrada is dedicating this concert to the meeting of the Old and New World. In addition to Bernstein's West Side Story, depicting rival gangs of Polish and Puerto Rican origin, you will also hear one of his all-too-rarely-performed works based on Plato's Symposium, with the leading American violinist Hilary Hahn
