‘Hossein Alizadeh, Alireza Ghorbani & Ensemble Zarbang’

The new project from the well-known Iranian performer of traditional music is titled Meynoush, or “cheers” in English. It refers to the theme of wine, an omnipresent subject in Iranian poetry that we gladly associate to the Latin idea of “carpe diem”, inviting us to forget worries and frustration in favour of enjoyment. Following the tradition associated to this music, this programme combines composition and improvisation and finds its inspiration in Persian classical and contemporary poetry.
