Summer 1962, Olli Mäki has a shot at the world championship featherweight boxing title. From the Finnish countryside to the bright lights of Helsinki, everything has been prepared for his fame and fortune. All Olli has to do is lose weight and concentrate. But there is a problem – he has fallen in love with Raija.
 
Juho Kuosmanen
Juho Kuosmanen (b. 1979) is a Finnish filmmaker based in Helsinki. His previous short films have won several prizes in prominent festivals including the Cannes Cinéfondation and Locarno. He graduated from the ELO Helsinki Film School of Aalto University in 2014. In addition to his studies, Kuosmanen has also acted in and directed stage productions and worked closely with the avant-garde opera ensemble West Coast Kokkola Opera. The Happiest Day in the Life of Olli Mäki is Juho Kuosmanen’s first feature-length film.
