‘The Handmaid's Tale’

In a totalitarian society with a very low birth rate, women are divided into three categories: the Wives, who rule the house, the Marthas, who take care of it, and the Handmaids, whose role is reproduction. The heroine of the novel, June, renamed Offred, is a Handmaid. She can’t seduce, she can only remember. The Handmaid’s Tale will have made an impact on everyone in 2017, it won five Emmy Awards including best drama series and best actress for Elizabeth Moss (Mad Men, Top of The Lake). It is already a cult series.
