Ecole de Ballet Marly has been in existence in Uccle since 1973 under the direction of Lilian Lartelier from the Conservatoire National (National Conservatory) of Lille and the Conservatoire National Supérieur de Musique et de Danse (National Higher Conservatory of Music and Dance) of Paris where she obtained a 1st Prize by unanimous decision of the jury. She is a former soloist of the Ballet du XXe Siècle (Ballet of the 20th Century) under the direction of Maurice Béjar and a member of the UNESCO Conseil International de la Danse (International Dance Council). Several disciplines are taught there, including: classical dance, modern-jazz and contemporary dance.

Through the participation of some of the students in international classical dance competitions in Belgium and France, the school has a list of winners of medals and first prizes in amateur and pre-professional categories unique in Brussels.

Every year in May, the students stage a ballet which alternates between academic ballets and ballets from the classical repertoire.

This Gala represents the fruition of the work done during the academic year and is also the occasion for the students to experience the incomparable pleasures of the stage with lovely costumes made especially for them.
