‘Fred Van Hove at 80’

13 Dec.'17
- 20:30

Support : Seppe Gebruers Joachim Badenhorst Duo

Who better than Fred Van Hove, eminence grise of Belgian free jazz, to give the new organ in our Henri Leboeuf Hall its jazz baptism? What’s more, 2017 marks Van Hove's 80th birthday, celebrated with a series of events throughout the year. The festivities began with the two-day event at deSingel and will end with this exclusive concert at BOZAR. Fred has invited the young pianist Seppe Gebruers to open the evening accompanied by saxophonist Joachim Badenhorst. But be warned: Van Hove may have achieved the status of 'national treasure' but that has not changed his uncompromising approach. So expect an evening of free improvisation, surprising sounds and unexpected twists and turns for adventurous ears.
