‘NextApe’ is the brand-new project of the virtuoso Belgian percussionist Antoine Pierre. At BOZAR he will take you on a journey to a fascinating world of sound, in which jazz and rock influences combine with electro and singing. Special guest: the uniquely talented Canadian saxophonist Ben Wendel.

“Antoine Pierre is one of the most talented Belgian jazz percussionists”, according to the online music mag Written in Music. Just 27, he is already the drummer in Philippe Catherine’s trio and in TaxiWars, the jazz project of dEUS singer Tom Barman and saxophonist Robin Verheyen. After graduating, he won the prestigious Toots Thielemans Jazz Award (2014) and the Sabam Jazz Award for ‘Promising Young Talent’ (2015). With NextApe, he takes you on a journey to a fascinating world of sound, in which jazz and rock influences combine with electro and singing. And Canadian saxophonist Ben Wendel will add his powerful sound as an exclusive guest during this performance. Prepare to be blown away!
