Odissi dance from the eastern Indian State of Orissa is a tribute to the deity.
Madhavi Mudgal is one of the leading Indian classical dancers. Trained in Odissi, Bharatnatyam and Kathak dance forms; trained under Guru Kelucharan Mohapatra.
She blends modern refined sensibility with ancient art form of Odissi.
Ms. Mudgal is recipient of India’s fourth highest civilian award – Padmashri, the Grande Médaille de la Ville conferred by the city of Paris and the Chevalier de l’Ordre des Arts et des Lettres by the Government of France.
