Special guest Angélique Kidjo (artist, Goodwill Ambassador for UNICEF, and guest speaker of European Development Days this year), Paul Dujardin (CEO BOZAR), and Mercedes Giovinazzo (Director Interarts) present:

Culture at Work Africa (2018-2021), a new project which aims to support projects in Africa that develop safe and neutral spaces for intercultural dialogue, strengthen multi-stakeholders national and transnational cooperation, capacity building and networking opportunities, and promote citizenship and intercommunity relations.

Culture at Work Africa is co-funded by the European Union and implemented in 15 African countries by Interarts; Arterial Network; Centre for Fine Arts – BOZAR; Culture et Développement; Regional Centre for the Living Arts in Africa – CERAV/Afrique; Culture Fund of Zimbabwe Trust; International Music Council - IMC; Committee on Culture of United Cities and Local Governments - UCLG, together with their associated partners Africa Centre for Cities of the University of Cape Town, the Economic Community of West African States - ECOWAS, and the Centre for Linguistic and Historical Studies through Oral Tradition - CELHTO.

 

Three-time Grammy award winner Angélique Kidjo is one of the greatest artists in international music today. Time Magazine, BBC, The Guardian, Forbes Magazine all list Angélique Kidjo as an iconic figure, among the most inspiring women, powerful celebrities of the African continent. She received the Crystal Award from the World Economic Forum in Davos and the Amnesty International Ambassador of Conscience Award in 2016. As a UNICEF Goodwill Ambassador Angelique travels the world advocating on behalf of children. She also created her own charitable foundation, Batonga, dedicated to support the education of young girls in Africa.
