A children’s choir is something extraordinary, but how much more so when it is part of a social project! The Equinox project, created by Maria João Pires, is devoted to creation and the development of children’s choirs. It wants to share the artistic excellence of the Queen Elisabeth Music Chapel, thanks to its masters and its young musicians, with audiences which rarely have access to it. The children’s choir SintJan is the fruit of a collaboration between I.T.OUCH’, a Brussels programme for intercultural dialogue by way of art and music, and the Sint-Jan Berchmans College in Antwerp. This choir is made up of around forty children, from diverse lands. For them, who don’t always have access to culture, this represents an important place of development. They unite their voices to sing about the joy of living together and diversity in diverse languages.
