Award ceremony European Union Prize for Literature
For its 10th edition the EU Prize for Literature is coming to BOZAR. At an exclusive evening this year's 14 laureates will be our guests of honour. These are emerging writers who are on the verge of an international breakthrough and all set to make their mark on literature in the years to come. The literary star Sofi Oksanen will be giving a laudation and European Commissioner for Culture Tibor Navracsics will be in conversation with the Finnish Minister of Science and Culture, Hanna Kosonen, and the Chair of the Committee on Culture and Education of the European Parliament, Sabine Verheyen. But most importantly, the writers themselves will be present. Located around the building there will be various "islands" where members of the public can listen to readings in the laureates' own languages and where they will be discussing their writing.
Laureates: Beqa Adamashvili (Georgia), Jan Carson (Ireland), Nikos Chryssos (Greece), Sophie Daull (France), Ivana Dobrakovová (Slovakia), Giovanni Dozzini (Italy), Marta Dzido (Poland), Laura Freudenthaler (Austria), Melissa Harrison (United Kingdom), Piia Leino (Finland), Réka Mán-Várhegyi (Hungary), Daina Opolskaite (Lithuania), Haska Shyyan (Ukraine), Tatiana Țîbuleac (Romania)
