The Norwegian-Swedish trio Ævestaden is probably one of the most astonishing Scandinavian folk bands of recent years. Between traditional tunes and their own compositions, the three musicians weave a dreamy, soaring music based on lyres, violin, kantele, electronic textures and ethereal voices, deploying a poetry not unlike that of Sigur Rós.
