Meet the author

The legendary Canadian author and artist Douglas Coupland is coming to BOZAR as part of a rare visit to Belgium. Fans of literature mainly know him from novels such as Generation X, Jpod and Microserfs, with which he established his reputation as one of our most high-profile contemporary authors. His work links high and low culture, and is an inaccessible means of demonstrating the influence digitisation and technology has on people. In recent years Coupland has primarily been working as a visual artist. This autumn he is putting on a major solo exhibition in the Rotterdam arts centre, Witte de With; this coincides with the publication of Bit Rot, a new collection with stories and essays, and the French translation of his novel Worst. Person. Ever. Coupland will be interviewed by journalist Anna Luyten about both his art and literary work.
