Rogério Brandão has long been an influential figure on the Lisbon underground scene and the undisputed doyen of afro-Portuguese music, in particular Batida. His productions blend the warmth of Portuguese music with the power of Angolan percussion, to which he adds thick layers of vibrant synths and sulphurous basslines. The result is a feverish sound that never fails to send the steamy dancefloors of Lisbon into a frenzy.
