‘Debate #3: Trust Issues’

Survey after survey reveals that young people have little trust in politicians and political parties. This feeling has only been intensified by recent revelations about politicians claiming excessively high expenses. What does the current crisis of confidence tell us about the political situation in Belgium, and by extension Europe? Does this sense of mistrust go hand in hand with a feeling of powerlessness? How can we slowly rebuild this trust? And how can we encourage citizens to get involved in politics?
