De Kleine Johannes

Carine Spiloes, direction ∙ leiding

De Kleine Johannes choir was created in 1991 in Blanden (Flemish Brabant). It is made up of 45 young choristers split into three groups. The first two are led by Dorien Verboven: in the beginners’ group, 1st and 2nd year primary school pupils discover the joys of singing as part of a choir; the choir of 3rd to 6th year primary school pupils immerses the choristers in polyphonic music. Carine Spiloes leads the third group, a choir of equal voices made up of young adolescents and teenagers, which is devoting itself to the interpretation of a very diverse repertoire. Last March, the choir of young people made a name for itself during the provincial choir competition, where it went home with a medal.
