‘De gouden draak’

In the much too small kitchens of the restaurant ‘The Golden Dragon’ six Chinese are at work among the steaming woks. The youngest among them has toothache. An illegal immigrant, he does not dare go to the dentist. Five actors play 18 characters in this bittersweet comedy by Roland Schimmelpfennig. This German playwright gives a face to people who live in Europe but whom we scarcely (want to) see: economic refugees.
