AIDAN BAKER (Ca)
Aidan Baker is a classically-trained multi-instrumentalist but uses the electric guitar as his primary instrument. Using prepared and alternate methods of playing the guitar, along with various electronic effects, Baker creates music which generally falls within the ambient/experimental genre but draws on influences from rock, electronic, classical, and jazz. A highly prolific artist, Baker has released numerous recorded works, both solo and with various group projects—most notably his dreamsludge duo project, Nadja—on such independent labels as Gizeh Records, Important Records, Alien8 Recordings, and his own imprint, Broken Spine Productions. Baker is also the author of several books of poetry. A regular live performer, Baker has toured extensively around the world, including appearances at such international festivals as FIMAV, SXSW, Incubate, Unsound, and Mutek, among others. Originally from Toronto, Canada, Baker currently resides in Berlin, Germany. As Aidan Baker has also, on several occasion, worked together with Consouling Sounds, the label is proud to present him as part of the BEA 2016 Consouling Sounds’ program.

DIRK SERRIES (B)
The Belgian-based artist Dirk Serries has experimented with music on the border between avant-garde, industrial, experimental and ambient for more than 30 years. Among his many projects: vidnaObmana, Fear Falls Burning, and his Microphonics series making him collaborate with several key-players like Steven Wilson, Justin K. Broadrick, Cult Of Luna, Steve Roach and toured extensively on the sides of Jesu, MONO, Low, My Bloody Valentine and Cult Of Luna. Recently he works together with some of the key players in the independent music label scene like Tonefloat, Consouling Sounds and Important Records.

He currently runs the Tonefloat’s New Wave Of Jazz vinyl/cassette imprint dedicated to his fascination and ongoing explorations in improvisation and free-jazz while intensily performing live with some of the best and modern improvisors like saxophonists John Dikeman and Colin Webster, drummers Tomas Järmyr, Steve Noble and Andrew Lisle, and tuba player Kristoffer Lo resulting in trending musical projects such as YODOK III. For BEAF Dirk Serries will re-enact his vintage vidnaObmana ambient minimalism.
