‘Concert - Belladonna & Campus Saint-Jean’

6 May'18
- 13:30

Singing Brussels Celebration Weekend

Belladonna wants to gives a voice to people from all over the world and display the wealth of different cultures. By selecting melancholy melodies and powerful pieces, this female choir deals with themes such as migration, injustice, war, resistance, discrimination, etc. It also performs energetic, joyous songs which bring a message of hope.

Direction: Katrien Vandenberghe & Annemie Ponseele

Pupils of the Campus Saint-Jean have worked on two pieces using a method of learning French in rhythm and song created by the non-profit organisation Mandji. They have rewritten the lyrics to the song Dommage, drawing inspiration from the lives of pupils who went to school at DASPA (welcome classes for newcomers). They share the stage with the Dutch-speaking choir Belladonna to sing Serge Gainsbourg’s Couleur café.

Direction: Nicole Bongo Letuppe
