‘Collegium Vocale 1704’

A tribute to the Resurrection of Christ and the Redemption, the Messiah is one of the finest oratorios ever written. In addition to the melodic exuberance and the profusion of choirs, Handel introduced the dramatic and musical resources of the opera (minus its spectacularising effect) into this genre of oratorio. It is performed by the Czech instrumental and vocal ensemble Collegium 1704, one of the reference points for early music, and it promises to be a thrilling concert.
