‘A Ciambra – Jonas Carpignano’

4 Dec.'17
- 20:00

A Ciambra takes place in the region of Calabria in southern Italy. It is home to the Amato family where four generations live crammed into a dilapidated house. They live off petty crime including burglary and car theft. At the same time they have to be forever on their guard not to offend the local mafia. When the father and eldest son are arrested, 14-year-old Pio sees himself as the man of the house. He wants to show that he can already be viewed as an adult and embarks on his own life of crime. The only person he can turn to for help is the sympathetic Ayiva who has become like a second father for Pio. But Pio will discover that becoming a real man also includes making choices and at that point it is family that he is drawn to.
