Sit in the first row as new work is given its world premiere. The biennial festival Ars Musica remains true to itself and promotes contemporary classical music. Under the heading The land of the rising sound, this edition emphasises music from Japan. In addition to works by the Russian composers Victor Kissine and Dmitri Shostakovich, the pianist Wilhem Latchoumia and the viola player Christophe Desjardins perform works by the Japanese composer Noriko Baba. The output of this much-awarded composer has previously been interpreted by ensembles such as 2e2m, Ensemble Intercontemporain and Orchestre Pasdeloup.

Sonatine (I: Novelette, II: Scherzino, III: Quasi Requiem) (World premiere - commissioned by Ars Musica)
