“A counter-diva who brings a comedian’s timing and sensibility to jazz.” New York Times Magazine

“You get a singer like this once in a generation or two.”
Wynton Marsalis.

With the American Cécile McLorin Salvant, BOZAR is bringing the vocal sensation of contemporary jazz to Brussels. In her unique timbre you can hear echoes of the greats that came before her, such as Betty Carter and Abbey Lincoln. This classically trained singer selects her repertoire from jazz, vaudeville, blues and folk, with a fondness for forgotten songs with strong narratives. Her debut album Woman Child charmed the world’s press in 2013 while her latest release, For One to Love, won the Grammy for Best Jazz Vocal Album.   Her most recent album "Dreams and Daggers", released in september, received immediately high critical acclaim in the  international media.

Her backing band, the fantastic Aaron Diehl Trio, has already earned its place on the international jazz stage.
