‘Cartas da guerra – Ivo M. Ferreira’

4 Dec.'16
- 17:00

Letters from War is inspired by the work of the Portuguese writer, António Lobo Antunes, which was published in 2005. In it he brings together the letters a young soldier stationed in Angola sent to his wife during the 1971 to 1973 Colonial War.

Ivo M. Ferreira
Ivo M. Ferreira was born in Lisbon in 1975. After graduating from the London Film School and the University of Budapest, he started travelling and making documentaries. His first work O Homen da Bicicletta – Diario de Macau (1997) is linked to Macau where he lives. Time spent in Angola in 2000 was an opportunity to discover the country and its Portuguese-speaking inhabitants. He directed anthropological documentaries there. Letters from War is his third feature film and his biggest project to date.
