On Monday 25 September, Brazilian composer and singer Caetano Veloso will play at Bozar, Brussels, where he will present his latest album 'Meu Coco', alongside his hits. Veloso's seasoned voice, warm sounds and live band will undoubtedly make for an unforgettable Indian Summer.

Veloso is probably Brazil's most popular and influential composer and singer. In the late 1960s, he, like bosom friend Gilberto Gil, fled to London. These two signposts of the immensely popular Tropicalismo often performed together. With their mix of avant-garde and a more traditional Brazilian sound, they left an indelible mark on European and South American music. From the 1980s, Veloso's popularity also rose outside Brazil. In 2004, the Brazilian released "A Foreign Sound", his first fully English-language album, featuring covers and new interpretations of Cole Porter, Bob Dylan and Nirvana, among others.
Veloso is an icon in the music world. Some even consider him as one of the best songwriters of the 20th century, compared to names like Bob Dylan, Bob Marley, John Lennon and Paul McCartney. Besides more than 50 solo and live albums (including "Live at Carnegie Hall" with David Byrne of Talking Heads), he often composes film scores such as for Pedro Almodovar's "Hable con Ella" or Julie Taylor's "Frida". During his long career, he has won numerous awards, including thirteen (Latin) Grammy Awards and two Grammy Awards for 'Best Album World Music'.

After almost a decade of impatiently waiting, Caetano Veloso released his brand new album "Meu Coco" in 2021. In it, he grants us a glimpse into his heart and head by showing how his brain works while creating songs: "It has been nine years since I last released an album of new songs. Then at the end of 2019, there was a desire to record new material solo. It started with a guitar rhythm that, if performed as I dreamed, would sound for any audience anywhere in the world. The song "Meu Coco" is the result of that." (Caetano Veloso)

The musical legend has a reputation for bringing summer with him and getting everyone moving. Brace yourself for a night of letting loose to Caetano Veloso's Brazilian rhythms!
