When two musical giants of seemingly opposed musical universes meet the result is bound to be impressive.
The Bug is one of the many alter egos of producer Kevin Martin. His other projects include groundbreaking work as King Midas Sound, Techno Animal/Ice/God (with Justin Broadrick of Godflesh/Jesu), he is the man behind Pathological Records, compiler of various legendary compilations (Macro Dub Infection, Jazz Satellites), production work/collaborations with, Pete “Sonic Boom/Spaceman3” Kemper’s E.A.R projects, John Zorn, Kevin Shields of My Bloody Valentine, El-P, and Anti Pop Consortium, to name just a few.
Dylan Carlson is the founder and guitarist of seminal drone metal band Earth. The band incorporates long, slow instrumental and repetitive patterns into various music forms such as doom and drone metal, minimalism, experimental rock, folk and country. Carlson also plays solo as DrCarlsonAlbion, where he sonically and thematically explores occult British folklore.
Together, they have released "Concrete Desert", where the title is representative of their encounter: grim industrial beats, heavy bass, and long contemplative riffs.
