
Stéphane Denève, the musical director of the Brussels Philharmonic, has an Austro-Finnish programme lined up for you. On the programme, a work by the contemporary conductor and composer Esa-Pekka Salonen and the Finnish national pride, Jean Sibelius whose Second Symphony is the masterpiece of his “Nationalist Romanticism” period. Viennese classicism will be brilliantly represented by Mozart’s magnificent Concerto for piano n°20, a genre at which the composer excelled and one of his most popular works with the public. On the keyboard, the gifted soloist Leif Ove Andsnes, who is particularly familiar with the work due to the fact he has immortalised it on CD.
