Final

Non-profit organisation Art We Breathe organises the 1st edition of the Brussels Contemporary Dance Competition, which is a solo competition for young talented contemporary dancers aged between 17 and 24 years old. The competition aims to promote contemporary dance and to discover the new generation of talented contemporary dancers.

The competition offers the dancers a professional environment where they can perform a self-choreographed solo to the public. Meanwhile, they can also be noticed by the jury panel consisting of renowned personalities of the contemporary dance world.

The competition consists of two qualifying rounds and a final performance. The first qualifying round is a video selection. During the second qualifying round dancers are asked to perform two solos in front of the judges. The first one is imposed and choreographed by Elias Lazaridis from the renowned dance company Eastman. The second solo is choreographed by the dancers themselves.

The final of the competition takes place in the Centre for Fine Arts on Sunday the 13th of March. The 10 final dancers will then perform their self-choreographed solo. The performance will be followed by the awards ceremony.
