‘B'Rock - René Jacobs - Sophie Karthäuser’

It’s always a pleasure to rediscover B’Rock. This Belgian ensemble breathes new life into the musical landscape, while also revisiting familiar, established works. René Jacobs, a great connaisseur of eighteenth-century music, and soprano Sophie Karthäuser, who is renowned for her Mozart opera character singing, explore a series of famous arias from the Austrian composer’s body of work. Also on the programme: two of Schubert’s symphonies, including his Symphony No. 4, which he composed at the tender age of 19, marking his break with classicism and his first steps on the path to romanticism.
