3 historical fortepianos

Against the background of ‘Piano e Forte’, the pianist and improviser Bram De Looze lets his jazz improvisation talent loose on a series of marvellous replicas of historical fortepianos from piano maker Chris Maene’s collection. De Looze performs imaginative compositions designed to highlight the warm, well-rounded sounds of the 19th century Erard. Virtuoso passages alternate on an 18th century Anton Walter, with its precise and balanced dynamics. De Looze concludes on a replica of a Pleyel concert grand piano dating back to 1843. Plunging into the depths of sinuous musical structures full of movement this talented young jazz musician evokes contrasting moods that harmoniously follow on from one another.
