The most influential jazz pianist of the last two decades" (The New York Times) returns to BOZAR with his long standing trio.

BOZAR welcomes back with great pleasure to our Grande Salle Henry Le Boeuf the internationally renowned pianist Brad Mehldau and his trio. Brad Mehldau is first and foremost an improviser, a jazz man who cherishes the surprise and wonder that occurs from a spontaneous musical idea, expressed directly in real time. But he also has a deep fascination for the formal architecture of music, that you will find in everything he plays. The two sides of Mehldau's personality - the improviser and the formalist - play off each other, resulting in something like controlled chaos. In recent years, the pianist has experimented a lot with other forms and genres, but at BOZAR he will perform with his longstanding trio, consisting of the great Larry Grenadier on double bass and Jeff Ballard on drums. It’s with great honour that we present one of the most prominent jazz ensembles of the last two decades.
