SHXCXCHCXSH - MOHAMMAD - INNERWOUD

Be surprised as you discover innovative music at the BOZAR Electronic Series evenings. In an intimate atmosphere, we present avant-garde works at the borders of electronic, contemporary and experimental music, sometimes accompanied by visual creations.  Established and emerging Belgian and international artists communicate their passion for adventure and sound experimentation. For the musically curious, a rare opportunity to expand their horizons.

SHXCXCHCXSH Audio-visual Show (SE - Avian) – Belgian première
The new audio-visual performance by the duo with the unpronounceable name of  SHXCXCHCXSH, created in cooperation with the video artist Pedro Maia, met with a warm reception at the time of its inception at the Unsound Festival (Krakow) and again when presented at the Serralves Museum of Contemporary Art in Porto. Between the duo’s atmospheric techno mixing atmospheric sounds, drones and industrial beats and Maia’s  extremely graphical visual, a genuine correspondence is generated. At BOZAR you can experience the Belgian première of this intoxicating performance.

Mohammad (Gr - Antifrost, Pan)
Using their own home-made instruments and computer software, this Athenian duo creates a music of low frequencies and sombre textures: a highly distinctive sound fuelled by the respective interests of the musicians. Behind the machines, there is Ilios, founder of the Antifrost label and master of the field recording, alongside the cellist and unrivalled improviser Nikos Veliotis. Experience the intensity generated by this unique alliance when they perform at BOZAR.

Innerwoud (B - Consouling Sounds)
Innerwoud is the solo project of Pieter-Jan Van Assche, the Belgian double bass player who grapples with his instrument to produce the most amazing soundscapes. Layer by layer, he creates a harmony that itself forms the sound backdrop as support for the sombre and lyrical melody that develops. You can expect his concert to be a gripping performance as he struggles to extract from his instrument its full sound potential. Far removed from genres and convention, Innerwoud promises a magical and contemplative interior journey.
