‘Boris Giltburg’

14 Dec.'16
- 20:00

Laureate of the 2013 Queen Elisabeth Competition, the Israeli pianist Boris Giltburg is back for a recital with a first-rate programme. Largely influenced by the romantic music which suits the artist’s musical temperament so well, the concert invites you to enter Schumann’s universe, the musical material of which “is so pure that it attaches itself to him like a second skin”, with a festive work which evokes the carnival. Brahms’ Sonata n°1 prolongs this moment in the company of Schumann because this early work by the composer was the fruit of a collaboration with Schumann. The two works by Rachmaninov and Prokofiev evoke dramatic moments linked to exile, in 1917 for Rachmaninov and when the USSR entered the war in 1942 for Prokofiev.
