‘Bicinia Hungarica, the "Kodály Method" for chorals - 16:30’

21 May'17
- 16:30

with Charlotte Messiaen

On the occasion of the fiftieth anniversary of the death of the Hungarian ethnomusicologist and teacher Zoltán Kodály, discover his choral and instrumental pieces, most of which are based on melodies collected from the Hungarian countryside. This is also the opportunity to take a closer look at his didactic method, which, starting out from the folklore that Kodály referred to as the ‘musical mother tongue’, enables you to learn music theory in a concrete manner. To illustrate this, Charlotte Messiaen will teach you a few Bicinia hungarica, small simple pieces for two voices.
