Michel François meets Anne Teresa De Keersmaeker / Rosas
In 2010, choreographer Anne Teresa De Keersmaeker and artist Michel François joined forces for the performance piece En Atendant. Boštjan Antončič’s solo was part of it. The hour-and-a-half-long performance was performed outdoors at dusk at the Cloître des Célestins during the Avignon Festival. De Keersmaeker drew inspiration from the history of Avignon and the Ars Subtilior, a complex musical form from the 14th century – a time marked by socio-political upheavals and the plague, uncertainty, darkness, and death. Michel François later adapted the scenography for the black box. He evokes the original setting in a concrete way. Boštjan Antončič’s solo is once again causing a stir in the Horta Hall of the Centre for Fine Arts.
